If These Shoes Could Talk

During the 1990s I was wearing Dunlop Volleys almost exclusively, and would wear out a pair in less than 12 months. I began to save the worn-out pairs with the intention of making an artwork one day, and this year’s Artstreet has presented me with the opportunity. I Love building and frequently feel the Magic of creativity in my work. If these shoes could talk they could tell you many stories from a career spent crafting “”Sculptures That People Can Live In”” right here in the upper Blue Mountains.

Jimmy Carothers has been living in Katoomba since 1979, and has raised his daughters while working as a Licenced Builder, now retired.
