This Pastel drawing is a small vignette of a Winter’s morning in Blackheath, depicting a neglected garden & chair lying dormant. It is a metaphor for past, sunny times but shows that charm, magic & beauty that can be found in abandoned places & winter.
Shirley Bond is an artist & teacher with over 40 years of experience in Pastel Drawing, Watercolour & Acrylic Painting, both here & abroad. She has been Head of Department at St Ives High School, & has exhibited in group & solo shows in Australia, the UK, Cairo, Athens & Hong Kong. In Sydney, she taught two adult classes: at The Coal Loader, Waverton & The Chiswick Community Centre. Currently Shirley does pet portraits by commission, (“Forever My Fur Baby”) tutors HSC students as well as conducting Pastel Workshops at her studio in Leura.
